Jerrin Toomey will coach defensive backs in his first season at Gettysburg College.
Toomey arrived in Gettysburg following the conclusion his playing career at Division II Bloomsburg University. He was a three-year starter at safety and posted 184 tackles and eight interceptions. In 2016, Toomey served as team captain and was named All-PSAC Second Team after posting 69 tackles, two interceptions, and six pass break-ups. Bloomsburg went 34-13 during his tenure.
A graduate of West York High School, Toomey coached defensive backs at Bloomsburg’s Team Camp in 2014 and 2016 and he assisted the college coaching staff this past spring.
Toomey graduated from Bloomsburg with a degree in management/finance.
