Marcus Edwards joins the football staff as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks’ coach for the 2020 campaign.
Edwards served as the wide receivers' coach at his last two stops at Stony Brook University (2015-18) and most recently at the United States Military Academy at West Point (Army). Edwards was responsible for developing the game plan for the wide-outs and oversaw positional meetings and drills. In 2017, Stony Brook was named the ECAC Football Championship Subdivision Team of the Year after posting a 10-3 record and finishing 11th in the FCS national poll. His specific recruiting areas over the last five years have included Florida, central New Jersey, western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, and central/western Tennessee.

Prior to Stony Brook, he put together two coaching stints at Wagner College (2009-12, 2014-15) surrounded by a stop at Bowling Green State University (2012-14). Edwards started as the wide receivers' coach in both of his tenures at Wagner and worked his way up to co-offensive coordinator. He also coached the Seahawks' junior varsity team from 2010-12. At Bowling Green, he served as the assistant wide receivers' coach and helped the team gain spots in the 2012 Military Bowl and the 2013 Caesars Bowl. Bowling Green won the Mid-American Conference (MAC) title in 2013.

Edwards was a four-year letterwinner at wide receiver at the University of South Florida. He started 31 games over his final three seasons and finished his career with 73 receptions, 928 yards, and three touchdowns. Edwards was a team captain for the Bulls and earned BIG EAST Academic All-Star recognition.

Edwards graduated from South Florida with a degree in communications in 2007. He earned a master's in business management from Wagner in 2011.
