Shaun Weaver enters his 14th season as a member of the Gettysburg coaching staff. He enters his 13th campaign as the defensive coordinator and will oversee the defensive line in 2019. Weaver coordinates the social media strategy for the Bullets football program and he also manages the strength and conditioning efforts for the entire athletics department.

Over the last 14 seasons, Weaver has coached 18 All-Centennial Conference performers, including four that have garnered first-team recognition. Additionally, linebackers Larry DelViscio ’13 and Kodie McNamara ’16 were named Academic All-America by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

As a team in 2015, Gettysburg led the conference in tackles per game and ranked second in interceptions (15). The Bullets finished the season with a 7-3 overall record and went 6-3 in conference play, falling just shy of a bid to the postseason. McNamara led the conference in tackles per game (10.7) and was selected as a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy honoring the top defensive player among small colleges.

In 2012, Gettysburg finished among the conference leaders in numerous defensive categories, including pass defense (second, 182.5 ypg), scoring defense (third, 19.9 ppg), and total defense (third, 316.5 ypg) en route to a 7-3 season - the team's best record since 1994. Under Weaver, DelViscio had a monster campaign, leading the Centennial Conference and finishing ninth in Division III in tackles (123). The Bullets held four opponents to seven points or less and posted its first shutout in eight years when they blanked Misericordia.

Weaver managed a defensive unit that included just one senior starter to an exciting finish in 2010 as Gettysburg won five of its last six games. Three Bullets finished among the top-six in the Centennial Conference in tackles, and two players earned Team of the Week status by D3football.com. ln 2009, Gettysburg held a pair of teams to just a field goal, including defending conference champion Muhlenberg College. Also that season, Tim Widdoes '10 became the third Bullet ever to lead the conference in tackles when he finished with 9.4 per game.

Over the 2008 and 2007 seasons, Gettysburg made its mark as one of the top pass-rushing teams in the Centennial Conference. The Bullets finished second with 29 sacks in 2007 before racking up 21 a year later. In 2008, defensive end Josh Jerrold '09 earned a spot on the All-CC First Team after leading the conference and tying for 15th in Division III with 9.5 sacks, which ranked fifth in school history.

Weaver’s impact at Gettysburg extends well beyond the end zones of the football field. For more than a decade, he has designed and implemented the strength and conditioning programs for all 24 intercollegiate varsity athletic programs, which has been a key component in the department’s success that includes three NCAA Division III championships in women’s lacrosse and 37 total Centennial Conference titles.

Prior to his arrival at Gettysburg, Weaver served as the defensive line coach at Bemidji State University in Minnesota from 2004-05. He also spent two seasons coaching the defensive line and serving as the junior varsity defensive coordinator at his alma mater, Wilmington College in Ohio, from 2002-03. Weaver guided his players to multiple postseason accolades at both Bemidji and Wilmington, including coaching one to All-America status at the latter.

Weaver holds two bachelor degrees from Wilmington College, one in secondary education/social studies licensure, and one in history. In the spring of 2006, he earned his master's degree in sports studies from Bemidji State.
