She took on the expanded role as the fifth Director after the retirement of Mike Cantele the previous November.
She served many roles in that position, including as an athletic trainer for Hanover Area YMCA, providing care for athletes participating in the YMCA programs and club sports. She also served as a WellFit clinician, sports medicine ambassador, and provided athletic training coverage for community events.
The former Shelby Gregory has experience at Gettysburg, providing supplemental athletic training coverage for practices and prospect camps over the last year.
Prior to her role with WellSpan, she spent three years as a clinical outreach certified athletic trainer for Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia, after serving as a sports medicine intern during her final year as an undergraduate at Bridgewater.
She earned her bachelor of science in athletic training with a concentration in social sciences for health professionals from Bridgewater in 2018. During her time there, she was a member of the athletic training student club. Her clinical experience included time with the James Madison football team.
She earned her master of science in exercise science and health promotion from California (Pa.) in December 2020.
In addition to being a certified athletic trainer since 2018, she also became a corrective exercise specialist in September 2023.
