A former assistant coach and All-America defenseman at Lynchburg College, Chris Perzinski enters his second season as an assistant men's lacrosse coach at Gettysburg in 2013-14.
Perzinski serves as the Bullets top assistant, working as the defensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator, and strength and conditioning coordinator. In 2013 he helped the Orange and Blue to an appearance in the Centennial Conference playoffs and a pair of victories over nationally-ranked opponents, including a 12-11 win over then-No. 3 Lynchburg. He also helped coach seven All-Centennial Conference selections and two All-Americans in 2013.
Under Head Coach Steve Koudelka ’93, a former All-America goalie at Gettysburg, Perzinski helped Lynchburg to a pair of outstanding seasons in 2011 and 2012 while serving as the defensive coordinator and strength and conditioning coordinator. In 2012, the Hornets posted a program-best 17-2 record and won the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) title to earn an automatic bid in the NCAA Division III tournament. Perzinski helped the Lynchburg defense hold its opponents to just 6.16 goals per game – good for 12th in Division III. He also worked with a number of All-America athletes over his two years, including First Team All-America defensemen and ODAC Player of the Year Joe Lisicky in 2012.
Perzinski graduated from Lynchburg in 2008 and was named Third Team All-America and First Team All-ODAC. He also played in the USILA North-South Senior All-Star Game and was a two-time captain of the Hornets.
Since graduation, Perzinski coached at Albemarle High School in Charlottesville, Va., contributing to its 2009 regional championship, and was named the 2010 assistant coach of the year for that region. Prior to his playing career at Lynchburg, he graduated from Hereford High School in Baltimore County Maryland, winning a state championship in 2003 playing for legendary coach Carl Runk.
Outside of the college game, Perzinski was also chosen to help select, coach, captain, and play for the first Polish national team that competed in the 2010 World Games, finishing 13th and first among new nations. He has also established himself as an industry expert, presenting at the U.S. Lacrosse Convention in January 2012 to hundreds of club, high school, and college coaches from around the nation.
