Dan Sharbaugh

Dan Sharbaugh enters his third season as an assistant men's lacrosse coach at Gettysburg College in 2014-15.

In his first two seasons with the Orange and Blue, Sharbaugh has helped lead the Bullets to a pair of Centennial Conference playoff appearances. Facing one of the toughest schedules in all of Division III, Gettysburg has put together a winning record of 9-7 in each of the past two years while facing a total of 11 nationally-ranked opponents. Sharbaugh has also helped coach two All-Americans who have earned a combined four All-America honors and nine Bullets who have captured a total of 13 All-Centennial Conference certificates. In addition, he has coached a pair of Centennial Conference Rookies of the Year.

A 2009 graduate of Eastern University, Sharbaugh came to Gettysburg from York (Pa.) College, where he spent the 2012 campaign as the defensive coordinator and man-down defense coach. He helped lead the Spartans to a 9-7 record and a 5-5 record in the Capital Athletic Conference. York finished the season with a 9.38 goals-against average – the lowest in school history – along with a 72.9 penalty-kill percentage and a pair of all-conference selections.

Sharbaugh also coached at his alma mater in 2010 and 2011, helping the Eagles to a 21-11 record and an 18-6 mark in the Middle Atlantic Conference. In 2011, he helped Eastern finish 10-6 with the fourth-best goals-against average (5.9) in Division III. He served as the assistant defensive coordinator, the man-down defense coach, and face-off coach as Eastern finished the season with an 83.3 penalty-kill percentage and won 55 percent of its face-offs.

As a student-athlete, Sharbaugh was a four-year starting defenseman and a two-time team captain. He helped Eastern finish as the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference runner-up in 2008.

Sharbaugh has also coached at numerous camps, including Gettysburg’s FCA Camp (2009-13) and Gait Cup (2009, 2012-13).

Sharbaugh also serves as an assistant in the athletic communications office at Gettysburg.
