    Volunteer Assistant Coach
TJ Buchanan enters his third season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Gettysburg College men’s lacrosse team in 2015-16. He previously spent three seasons an assistant coach at Hood College after a nine-year stint as the head coach South Western High School.

During his tenure at South Western, Buchanan coached his team to several YCLL tournament appearances, two of those being championship games, as well as multiple Central Pennsylvania tournament appearances. He has coached three players to High School All-American status as well as one Academic All-American.

In June 2012, Buchanan was hired by U.S. Lacrosse as the content manager for the Coaching Education Program (CEP). In this role, Buchanan is in charge of the development of curriculum, content and other educational tools for the CEP which will then be distributed to a nationwide network of trainers to deliver at coaches clinics across the country. He will also be working closely with the officials training program and the men's game director to assist in developing instructional materials that are consistent with those of the CEP.

Buchanan holds a bachelor's degree from Millersville University, a master’s degree from Mount St. Mary’s University and is currently pursuing a masters in Exercise Science and Physical Education at McDaniel College.
