Katie Hagan returns for her fourth season as the Bullets assistant lacrosse coach in 2011-12. In her first three seasons on staff, she has helped Gettysburg to a 53-12 record, three appearances in the NCAA Tournament semifinals, and the 2011 NCAA Division III championship.

Hagan has played a key role in Gettysburg’s success over the majority of the last decade as a player and coach. A 2007 graduate, she starred for four seasons as a member of Gettysburg’s midfield, helping the Bullets to an impressive overall record of 72-11 (.867), including 34-2 (.944) against members of the Centennial Conference. Gettysburg won three conference championships during that time and appeared in the NCAA playoffs all four seasons. In 2006, Hagan helped lead the Bullets to a school-record 21 victories en route to the national title game.

Individually, Hagan appeared in all but four games during her four seasons, accruing 143 points on 90 goals and 53 assists. As a senior in 2007, she posted career marks for goals (35), assists (32), points (67), ground balls (43), and caused turnovers (32) en route to being named CC Player of the Year, first-team All-Metro Region, and first-team Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-America. In a thrilling regular season contest with top-ranked College of New Jersey, Hagan tallied two goals and two assists, including dishing out the helper on the game-winning goal in overtime.

Hagan’s success as a player has translated into a trio of successful years as a coach as Gettysburg has maintained a top-10 ranking and beaten numerous nationally-ranked programs. The Bullets have gone 25-2 in the Centennial Conference and have set season records for points, goals, and draw controls under her tutelage. Five student-athletes have garnered All-America recognition and 13 have been tabbed All-Centennial Conference, including the three CC Players of the Year.

A native of Media, Pa., Hagan was a three-sport standout at Cardinal O’Hara High School, earning first-team all-conference honors in both soccer and lacrosse three times and serving as the captain of the basketball and lacrosse squads. After graduating from Gettysburg with a degree in management in 2007, she spent one year working for Tech USA as a recruiter in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. area.
