AT GETTYSBURG

Badecki enters his fifth season as a head coach of the Gettysburg men’s golf program in 2025-26.

In his first year at the helm, the Bullets won five tournaments. The squad posted nine rounds of better than 300 on the season and ended the season with a second-place showing at the Centennial Conference (CC) championship. He guided two players to all-conference honors and three earned all-region accolades.

In year two, Gettysburg carded five rounds of 290 or better on the season and finished runners-up at the CC championship once again despite a three-round score of 884 – the lowest ever shot by the Bullets at the championship and fourth lowest by any CC team. Gettysburg individuals posted 23 rounds of par of better.

Year three brought 17 individual rounds of par or better and nine team rounds under 300. Badecki mentored Daniel Suter ’25 to the individual Centennial Conference championship after he fired a final-round score of 67 to force a playoff, which he won on the second hole.

In 2024-25, Badecki guided the Bullets to one of the best men’s golf seasons in program history that included his first Centennial Conference team championship behind a second-straight individual title with Patrick Kilcoyne ’26 claiming the honor after a three-day score of 212. The season culminated with the highest finish at the NCAA championship, placing 11th after winning a playoff to make the 36-hole cut. Over the season, the team posted the best stroke average in program history (293.7) while winning six of 12 events. Suter had the best individual season in the history of the program with a 71.4 stroke average, four wins and 16 of his 28 rounds at or under par. Kilcoyne’s 72.5 stroke average was the second best ever. He had two wins and was at or under par in 13 of 26 rounds. Badecki claimed both conference and regional Coach of the Year honors.

PRIOR TO GETTYSBURG

Badecki arrived in Gettysburg following a two-year stint at Penn State Harrisburg. The team was developing into a conference contender after posting three top-10 showings in fall competition before the COVID-19 pandemic halted play in the spring. Prior to Penn State, Badecki was the head men’s and women’s golf coach at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. He led the Big Red to six tournament victories and coached four Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Scholar All-Americans.

This marks the second time Badecki followed in the footsteps of Nate Davis as a golf coach. In 2013, Badecki took the reins from Davis as head coach of the women’s team at Eastern University and quickly led the squad to the top of the Middle Atlantic Conference. He was named the MAC Women’s Golf Coach of the Year as the Eagles won the MAC championship and made the program’s first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Championships. Badecki, who also coached the Eagles’ men’s team for several campaigns, guided the women to 13 all-conference honors and six WGCA Scholar All-America selections.
