Calhoun returns to the Bullets staff for his third season as an assistant in 2025-26 season.
He spent the 2022-23 year as a recruiting coordinator with NCSA College Recruiting, providing preliminary evaluation of student-athletes to determine academic and athletic standing as well as providing education to families on the recruiting process in areas such as building exposure, understanding the timeline and what contact should be coming in from coaches.
While working on his masters of education in athletic administration at Springfield, he served as an assistant swim coach from 2020-22. He helped institute custom routines for athletes needing development in strategic areas. He was also responsible for the development and implementation of student-athletes’ dryland routine and was responsible for recruiting within the program.
As an undergraduate, Calhoun was a four-year member of the SUNY Cortland swim team. Primarily a distance swimmer and butterfly specialist, he scored in both the 1,650 freestyle and 200 butterfly at the SUNYAC conference championship meet.
He also has coaching experience at the Westfield YMCA, Springfield Jewish Community Center, Long Island Aquatic Club and Oneonta YMCA. As a coach or instructor within each organization, he worked with youths, developing their skills and stroke techniques.
He graduated from Cortland in 2020 with a bachelor of science in exercise science, specializing in coaching and sport management.
