Werner turned in a game to remember in Gettysburg's dramatic 11-10 victory over 15th-ranked Cabrini in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. He scored the game-winning goal with 2:24 left in the extra session, and it also marked the 100th point of his career. Werner finished the game with four goals and one assist, tying his career-highs for both goals and points (five). It was the second year in a row that he scored an overtime game-winner in the NCAA second round, as he also notched a golden goal in the team's 10-9 double-OT victory over Ursinus last season. In addition, Werner posted one goal and two assists in Gettysburg's 9-8 NCAA first-round victory over Lynchburg.
