Leyens won four events, captured two NCAA B-cuts, and broke one school record at the Gettysburg Invitational, helping the Bullets finish second. Individually, he touched first in the 200-freestyle (1:39.37) and 500-freestyle (4:33.68), earning B-cuts in both events, and placed second in the 100-freestyle (45.54), missing a third B-cut by a hundredth of a second. He won by over five seconds in the 200, and in the 500 he won by nearly nine seconds while shattering the 13-year-old school record by over six seconds. In addition, he anchored both the winning 200-freestyle relay (1:23.71) and 400-freestyle relay (3:04.18).
