Gettysburg College Athletics

Brett Kelly was named the head coach of the men’s soccer program in December 2010. Kelly, a 2003 graduate, had served as the associate coach for the 2010 campaign following four years as an assistant.

In two seasons as the Bullets' mentor, Kelly has guided the team to a 13-18-2 overall record. In his first season, Kelly guided Gettysburg to a 7-8-1 overall record. The Bullets just missed a berth in the conference tournament, finishing seventh overall with a 4-4-1 record.

Kelly has found success on the soccer field both as a player and a coach. From 1998 to 2001, he helped Gettysburg post a 63-15-3 record, win two Centennial Conference championships, win an ECAC Division III South Championship, and compete in the NCAA Division III Tournament three times. Kelly served as a captain in 2001.

Kelly began his coaching career at Gettysburg while completing his degree, first serving as a student assistant in 2002 and then as the assistant coach in 2003. In nine seasons with Kelly on staff, the Bullets have logged a record of 81-65-18 and the team has made six trips to the postseason.

Kelly made the return to Gettysburg following a two-season coaching stint at East Carolina University, a member of Conference USA. Kelly also has coached youth soccer, leading the 89 Greenville Stars (N.C.) to an undefeated season during the spring of 2005, and he holds a NSCAA National Diploma and NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma.

Prior to assuming head soccer duties, Kelly also served as co-head coach of Gettysburg’s men’s and women’s tennis teams from 2008 to 2010. He helped the teams to a combined record of 52-46 during that period and he will maintain an assistant coaching role going forward.
