Field Hockey Tops Bryn Mawr, 7-0

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Six players accounted for Gettysburg's season-high seven goals as the 16th-ranked Bullets blanked winless Bryn Mawr College 7-0 in Centennial Conference field hockey action Saturday afternoon.

The Bullets (9-3, 3-2 CC) jumped to a 4-0 halftime lead and outshot Bryn Mawr 45-4 for the game. Senior Molly Latta (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) led the way with two goals while junior Alyssa Heimbach (Palm, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) handed out a pair of assists. Senior Lexie Hearn (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) and junior Annie Marosits (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) added one goal and one assist apiece.

Senior Nina Emala (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) also scored a goal for the Bullets while sophomore Molly Burton (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) and freshman Kelly Madden (Oyster Bay, N.Y./Oyster Bay) each notched the first collegiate goal. Freshmen Emily Kleinburd (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson) and Derdre Loftus (Ridgefield, Conn./St. Luke's School) each distributed their first collegiate assist.

Senior Christina Anderson (Dunkirk, Md./Calverton School) made three saves while playing the opening 49:37 to earn the win in goal while freshman Megan Feeg (Temple, Pa./Oley Valley) stopped one shot over the final 20:23 in her collegiate debut.

Gettysburg held a 19-0 advantage in penalty corners.

Elizabeth Toft made 29 saves for the Owls (0-13, 0-7 CC).

Gettysburg returns to action on Tuesday, when it hosts No. 1-ranked Messiah College at 4 p.m.
