ALL-TIME SERIES
Gettysburg leads Dickinson 40-32-2 in the all-time series that started in 1892. The Red Devils have won the last three meetings, with the Bullets last win coming in a 17-7 victory here in Gettysburg in 2005.
LAST MEETING
Dickinson outscored the Bullets 29-3 through the first 57 and a half minutes and the Red Devils earned a 29-16 victory to claim the Little Brown Bucket for the third year in a row. In a sloppy game that featured seven turnovers, Ian Mitchell passed for 160 yards and one touchdown while rushing for an additional 66 yards and to lead Dickinson. He completed nine passes for 104 yards and one touchdown to receiver Pat O'Connor. Missed opportunities plagued the Bullets, who drove inside the Red Devil-31 on six of their first nine drives but came away with only three points due to a fumble, two interceptions, two missed field goals, and a turnover on downs. Jamel Mutunga rushed for 117 yards on 23 carries to lead the Bullets.
LAST TIME OUT
Gettysburg gave its Homecoming crowd a treat, as the Bullets rushed for a school and Centennial Conference record 525 yards en route to a 59-14 victory over winless Juniata College on Saturday. It was a record-setting day all-around for Gettysburg, as senior quarterback Matt Flynn became the Centennial Conference all-time leader in passing yards while junior tailback Jamel Mutunga tied a school record with five touchdown runs. In addition, junior kicker Mike Barrett was 8-for-8 on extra points, tying school records for PATs attempted and made. Junior tailback Anthony DeSalva led the Bullets with a career-high 144 yards rushing while Flynn added a career-best 124 yards on the ground. Mutunga finished with 129 yards rushing, his fourth 100-yard game of the season. The Bullets outgained Juniata 687-292.
Dickinson, which is coming off its bye week, dropped a 23-12 decision to Johns Hopkins University two weeks ago. The Red Devils, who were missing offensive starters Pat O'Connor (wide receiver) and Greg Lord (tailback) due to injury, scored their points on four Gordon Craig field goals. It was a 16-12 game heading into the fourth quarter, and a 14-yard touchdown run by Andrew Kase sealed the win for Hopkins. Senior quarterback Ian Mitchell finished with 202 yards on 16-of-32 passing and additional 60 yards rushing for the Red Devils while senior receiver Joe Sandoe caught seven passes for 116 yards.
THE GETTYSBURG OFFENSE
After establishing themselves as one of the top passing teams in Division III early in the season, the Bullets have proven to be just as dangerous on the ground over the last two weeks. Gettysburg, which was ranked as high as fifth in the nation in passing at one point, rushed for 300 yards at Moravian College two weeks ago before their 525-yard rushing outburst against Juniata a week ago, bumping their average to 244.6 yards per game, which ranks 20th in the nation. Add it all up, and you get the Division III leader in total offense (543.4 ypg) for the third week in a row. For the season, junior tailback Jamel Mutunga leads the team in rushing yards (768) and rushing touchdowns (10) and is currently 26th in the nation in rushing (109.7 ypg). Also, assistant Mark Campo played at Gettysburg from 2003-06, earning three letters as a quarterback.
CLIMBING THE CHARTS
