BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Gettysburg College volleyball team halted a three-match losing streak with a sweep of Bryn Mawr College in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams Tuesday night. Junior

Virginia Hogan (Alpharetta, Ga./Chattahoochee) led the Bullets with 10 kills apiece.
After opening the season 8-0, Gettysburg (9-3, 1-0 CC) had dropped its final three matches at its own Battlefield Classic over the weekend. The Bullets established themselves early at Bryn Mawr (4-5, 0-1 CC) with a 25-7 opening-set victory and polished off the win 25-19 and 25-15 in the final two sets. Gettysburg improved to 17-0 all-time against the Owls.
Burns recorded her second-straight double-digit kill effort, making only one error in 18 attempts. Hogan posted her third double-figure effort of the season on the attack and added six digs. Senior

Gettysburg returns to action this Friday and Saturday with a swing through Virginia. First, the Bullets face Christopher Newport University on Friday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. Then on Saturday, Sept. 19, Gettysburg will travel to Virginia Wesleyan College to face Washington & Lee University at 1 p.m. and the hosts at 3 p.m.
