Annie Marosits and freshman
Erica Barbuto scored one goal apiece and the Gettysburg College field hockey team moved one step closer to another Centennial Conference playoff berth, blanking host Dickinson College 2-0 Tuesday afternoon.
Gettysburg (8-8, 6-3 CC), which outshot the Red Devils 27-7, won its third game in a row and can clinch its eighth straight conference playoff berth with a win over Muhlenberg on Friday.
After a scoreless first half, Marosits took a feed from freshman
Liz Baron 21:20 left and deposited her second goal of the season and what held up as the game-winning tally. Barbuto added an insurance goal when she converted a dish from junior
Sarah Cole with 1:53 remaining for her sixth marker of the year.
Sophomore
Megan Feeg stopped two shots to earn her third shutout of the season and her second in three games. Ioni Kokdis made 13 saves for Dickinson (3-13, 2-7 CC).
Gettysburg hosts Muhlenberg at 3:30 p.m. in the team's regular season finale on Friday.
