Box Score

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Gettysburg College women's soccer team came up short in its final non-conference road contest of the season, dropping a 1-0 decision at Stevenson University Tuesday night.

Offense was a commodity on Tuesday as Gettysburg (7-4) and Stevenson (7-5) combined for just 16 shots and two corner kicks in the contest. The squads each posted four shots in the opening half with shots by the Bullets' Casey Attanasio (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) and Sam Hellerman (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown West) stopped by Lauren Weitzman.

In the second half, a goalie switch for the Mustangs produced the same results as Brittany Ross stopped the only shot she saw on goal by Sara Montague (Newark, Del./St. Mark's) in the 72nd minute. That attempt came on the heels of the first and only tally of the contest by Jamie Matlock at 69:07.

The Bullets managed two more shots in the final six minutes, but each sailed wide.

Junior goalie Allie Rivera (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham Wading River) made three stops in between the pipes for Gettysburg.

The Orange and Blue return to the friendly confines of Clark Field this weekend for a Centennial Conference match up with Johns Hopkins University on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m.
