ELVERSON, Pa. – Juniors
Peter Ruymann and
Peter Kratsios each shot below 80 and the Gettysburg College men's golf team registered a season-low 319 for the second straight day, placing third among 13 teams at the Ursinus College Invitational, held at the Stonewall Links Golf Course.
All seven Centennial Conference men's golf teams were in the field, previewing the course for next weekend's conference championship. The top six teams ended up coming from the Centennial, with Franklin & Marshall College winning with a 301. F&M's Andrew Woods claimed the individual title with a 72.
Ruymann and Kratsios finished one stroke apart, and each carded a season-low. Ruymann posted a 77 to tie for fifth among 66 golfers while Kratsios recorded a 78, tying for eighth.
Freshman
Austin Smith added an 81 to tie for 20th while sophomore
George Whitelaw completed the team scoring with an 83, tying for 30th. Senior
Matt Anderson tied for 53rd with a 91.
Gettysburg competes in its final match before the Centennial Conference Championships when it takes part in the Messiah Invitational next Tuesday.
