Bullets Hit Milestones in Win over Dickinson

Stahl reaches 200 points, Krammer breaks wins record

CARLISLE, Pa. – Seniors Hollis Stahl (Hightstown, N.J./Peddie School) and Kristen Krammer (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) each reached career milestones in leading sixth-ranked Gettysburg College to a 13-6 victory over Dickinson College in Centennial Conference women's lacrosse action on Wednesday, April 14.

Stahl posted four goals and one assist and became the seventh player in school history to reach 200 career points, finishing the day with 203. Krammer made seven saves to earn the decision in goal for her 52nd career win the cage, smashing the mark previously held by 2004 grad Liz Borucki.

Gettysburg (12-2, 6-0 CC) and Dickinson (6-4, 3-3 CC) traded a pair of goals to start the contest as Lexie Hearn (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) and Lindsey Robinson (Potomac, Md./Holton-Arms) converted for the visitors and Kaity Moore and Clare Manoli answered for the hosts, setting the score at 2-2 at 18:29.

Three goals in just over two minutes gave the Bullets the lead for good. Senior Nina Emala (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) tallied the first off a feed from Robinson before back-to-back scores by Stahl opened up a 5-2 lead with 14:30 left in the first half. After a score by Sunnie Ko at 11:22, Gettysburg tacked on four of the final five goals of the period to take a 9-4 lead into the break.

Stahl and sophomore Hannah Church (Ellicott City, Md./Mount de Sales) provided all of Gettysburg's offense in the final period. Stahl went back-to-back at 19:04 and 17:17 before Church did the same at 14:01 and 7:52.

Dickinson, which was limited to just seven shots in the final period, took advantage of a yellow card to finally net a goal with 6:42 remaining. The Red Devils added a free position goal 17 seconds later as Krammer was called for a shooting space foul and had to step out of the cage, but Gettysburg maintained control for most of the remaining time to close the door.

Gettysburg had the edge in every relevant team stat except saves. The Bullets posted 40 shots, 24 ground balls, and 15 draw controls, compared to 15, 23, and six for the hosts.

Stahl added three ground balls , three draw controls, and two caused turnovers to her offensive numbers. Emala tallied three goals and one assist, Church added two and two, and Robinson finished with one of each. Senior Jessica Crane (Sudbury, Mass./Sudbury-Lincoln) tacked on a pair of free position goals and led all players with four caused turnovers. Junior Becky Lutz (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) corralled three ground balls and equaled the Red Devils' total with six draw controls.

Sara Braniecki posted one goal and one assist and Kara Glazer dished out two assists for Dickinson. Jessie Clark stopped a dozen shots in the Devil goal.

Gettysburg returns to action this Saturday, April 17, at home against Bryn Mawr College at 1p.m.
