WESTMINSTER, Md. – Junior Megan Lott (Bellsville, Md./Pallotti) tied a school record with two home runs in the finale and the Gettysburg College softball team wrapped up the No. 2 seed for the Centennial Conference Tournament with a sweep of McDaniel College on Saturday.

Gettysburg (21-12-1, 11-5 CC) put a stamp on the second seed by taking out McDaniel (15-23, 5-11 CC) with scores of 3-2 and 4-0. Lott became the sixth Bullet to homer twice in a game with two bombs in the nightcap and added a double in the opener for a three-hit afternoon. Sophomore Catrina DelGais (Airmont, N.Y./Suffern) went 4-for-7 and senior Beth McCullough (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) registered her fourth shutout of a Centennial foe this spring.

Lott didn't waste any time in the finale, belting a solo home run over left field as the second batter of the game. After Gettysburg added single runs in the third and fourth frames, Lott led off the fifth with her team-high fifth longball of the spring to left. She was the first Bullet to connect on two homers in a game since Mandy Wilson '02 jacked two against Haverford College on April 6, 2002.

The Green Terror had little to offer at the plate, posting just three hits against McCullough until the final frame. The hosts loaded the bases before McCullough induced a fly out. The Bullet hurler finished with five hits allowed and one walk, while striking out seven. She also went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Lott went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI in the finale, while freshman Joy Hallfors (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) and DelGais each went 2-for-4 with a run.

In the opener, McDaniel struck first with a pair of runs in the fifth inning against sophomore Lanie Parr (Washington, D.C./Academy of the Holy Cross). After scoring two quick runs, the Green Terror loaded the bases, but freshman third baseman Sam Bader (York, Pa./Central York) helped her pitcher out by snaring a line drive and then corralling a ground ball for a force out at third base.

The Bullets answered in their next at bat, jump-started by a lead-off double by Lott. After a walk and single loaded the bags, DelGais and senior Kara Kempski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford-Mendon) cashed in with back-to-back run-scoring singles. Bader brought in the eventual game-winner with an RBI groundout to shortstop.

Parr improved to 12-3 with the win, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out two. DelGais and Kempski each went 2-for-3 with one RBI, while freshman Katie Lang (Kennebunk, Maine/Kennebunk) tallied a pair of hits in three at bats.

Gettysburg has one more non-conference tilt on tap before competing in the conference tournament at Ursinus College on May 1-2. The Bullets will travel to nationally-ranked Salisbury University on Tuesday, April 27, at 3:30 p.m.
