Box Score

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Six different players reached the scoring column as the Gettysburg College women's soccer team won its Centennial Conference debut 6-0 over visiting Bryn Mawr College Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Rachel West (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) posted a goal and two assists and fellow first-year Ashley Miller (Rutledge, Pa./Strath Haven) added a pair of assists for Gettysburg (5-2, 1-0 CC), which won its conference opener for the fifth consecutive season.

The Bullets wasted little time jumping on the board as sophomore Lindsey Lyons (Hatfield, Pa./Pennridge) knocked in a cross from Miller at 4:15 for her third goal of the season. Despite pouring in 19 shots in the first half alone, Gettysburg was unable to find the mark again until junior Lauren Johnson (Morristown, N.J./Morristown-Beard) connected with freshman Kaeley McEvoy (Woodbury, Conn./Nonnewaug) on a header off a corner kick in the 36th minute.

The hosts opened the advantage early in the final period with a pair of goals seven minutes apart. Sophomore Mackenzie Cobb (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) kicked in a touch from West at 58:05, before sophomore Casey Attanasio (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) capped off a give-and-go with freshman Tara Crowley (Wall, N.J./Wall) at 65:55.

West had a hand in each of the final two goals beginning with her team-leading fourth goal off a pass from freshman Lauren Macklin (Henniker, N.H./John Stark Regional) in the 79th minute. With 2:19 remaining, West and Miller threaded a pair of quick passes through the defense to sophomore Ali Jones (Pittstown, N.J./North Hunterdon) who blasted in her first collegiate score.

Gettysburg finished with 37 shots and seven corner kicks in the contest. Junior Allie Rivera (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham Wading River) and sophomore Katie Burke (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) combined for the shutout.

The Bullets get a week off before resuming conference play at Haverford College on Saturday, Sept. 25, at noon.
