LANCASTER, Pa. – The Gettysburg College men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at Franklin & Marshall College in Centennial Conference action Wednesday evening.

The Diplomats (4-2-2, 1-0-2) received all the scoring they would need in the third minute, when Giuseppe Bua scored from inside the goal box off a Rob Hassler assist. The rest of the half proved to be a defensive battle, as the two sides attempted just five total shots, with all but one belonging to F&M.

Ryan O'Connell doubled the hosts lead in the 55th minute, converting in transition off a feed from Ben Beaver. The Bullets (2-6, 1-2 CC) took both of their shots on goal in the second stanza, but Zack Zamek turned aside freshman Brooks Taylor in the 71st minute and sophomore Andrew McLane in the 90th minute.

Franklin & Marshall finished with a 12-5 surplus in shots.

Making his collegiate debut, freshman goalie Connor Darrell finished with two saves in net for Gettysburg.

The Bullets return to action on Saturday, when they host third-ranked Swarthmore College at 4 p.m. during Homecoming.
