HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College went on a four-goal spree in the second half to break open its Centennial Conference match up with visiting Gettysburg College and send the Bullets away with a 5-1 loss on Saturday.

Gettysburg (5-4, 3-1 CC) dropped back-to-back matches for the first time this season and suffered its first loss in conference play, while Haverford (6-0-3, 2-0-1 CC) maintained its unbeaten season record and scored its most lopsided victory ever over the Orange and Blue.

Despite recording the first two shots on goal in the contest, Gettysburg came up empty as junior Casey Attanasio's attempt was kicked away by a defender in the fifth minute and senior Sara Montague's shot was stopped by Haverford goalie Robin Chernow in the 15th.

Haverford jumped on the board in the 18th minute as Elizabeth Newman forced a pair of shots. After Newman's first goal was turned away by senior Allie Rivera, she came right back to convert a header on the ensuing corner kick at 17:45.

The Fords dialed up the offense in the second half, out-shooting the visitors 11-3. Meg Boyer put the hosts up 2-0 with her fourth goal of the season in the 66th minute. Then in a span of 1:55, Haverford tacked on two more goals as Newman struck again off a corner kick in the 82nd minute and Hannah Davis followed with a solo strike in the 84th minute.

Gettysburg turned in its only tally in the 86th minute as junior Sarah Alesio scored in the 86th minute following a corner kick.

Davis turned in her second goal to cap the day in the 89th minute.

Haverford finished with a 14-8 edge in shots, while Gettysburg led in corner kicks 10-2.
