READING, Pa. – Junior Andrew McLane and sophomore Tyler Shaffer each scored a pair of goals as the Gettysburg College men's soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to a season-high six matches with a 6-1 win at Albright College Wednesday night.

Coming off a pair of double-overtime affairs, Gettysburg (6-3-1) did not need any extra time in posting a season high for goals and improving to 5-0-1 over the last six contests. McLane put the visitors on the board in the 17th minute with a header following a corner kick by sophomore Andrew LaFontaine.

Shaffer was next in line, taking a feed from sophomore Devin Geiman and converting in the 25th minute. McLane followed just four minutes later off a pass from senior Kyle DeBlois.

Gettysburg tied its previous season high for goals before the end of the half as sophomore Calum Benjamin turned in his first goal of the season at 43:10. Junior Evan Tinter was credited with the assist.

The Bullets kept the offense rolling to start the second period with a pair of goals just 1:25 apart. Geiman added to his assist with his first career goal following passes by junior Dan McNamara and senior Teddy McCarthy at 50:52. McCarthy and McLane picked up assists on the final tally by Shaffer at 52:17.

Lamar Stewart scored Albright's (5-5) only tally in the 76th minute.

Gettysburg was efficient on its shot attempts, scoring six times on just 13 shots. The team finished with a one-shot edge and led in corner kicks 6-4.

Sophomore Connor Darrell, the reigning Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week, continued his strong play in net by making a pair of saves and keeping the Lions off the board for the first 73 minutes. Junior Jamie Hahn closed out the match in goal for Gettysburg.

Gettysburg, which sits tied atop the Centennial Conference standings with Johns Hopkins University, faces 21st-ranked Swarthmore College (8-2, 3-1 CC) on Sunday, Oct. 9.
