RADNOR, Pa. – For the second straight game to start the season, the Gettysburg College field hockey team used balance scoring to pick up a win, as the Bullets got four goals from four players in a 4-1 non-conference victory at Cabrini College Saturday afternoon.
Senior
Sarah Cole, sophomore
Erica Barbuto, and junior
Ally Duggan all scored in the opening half for Gettysburg (2-0) as the Bullets took a 3-0 lead into halftime. Cole scored Gettysburg's first goal for the second game in a row while Dugan converted on a penalty stroke for her first collegiate goal.
Sophomore
Ashleigh Guise made it 4-0 midway through the second half, capping the Orange & Blue's scoring for the day.
Stephanie Campanaro broke up the shutout for the Cavaliers (1-3), scoring with 16:36 left.
Once again, Gettysburg played two goalies. Junior
Megan Feeg did not have to make a save in shutting out Cabrini in the first half before sophomore
Alexis Bralow made one save while playing the second stanza.
Vicky King made one save and allowed two goals in the opening 16 minutes for Cabrini before Genevieve Paulin turned aside three shots and yielding two goals in the remaining 54 minutes.
The Bullets outshot the Cavaliers 10-3 for the game.
Gettysburg picks up its schedule on Tuesday, when it visits Catholic University at 4:30 p.m. in a non-conference outing.
