ASTON, Pa. – Gettysburg took more shots and corner kicks against Neumann College on Saturday, but the host Knights needed only one corner and one shot to pick up a 1-0 win over the Bullets.

Gettysburg (1-2) tallied two corner kicks and three shots in the first 10 minutes of the match before Neumann (1-2) hit pay-dirt on its first corner and shot attempts. Evan Morgan provided the assist off the corner to Shawn Kee in front of the goal at 16:29.

The Bullets notched their only shot attempt on goal just before the end of the opening half as junior Andrew McLane was stopped by Neumann keeper Bob Mastrillo at 44:05.

The hosts controlled the second half as Gettysburg managed just two early shot attempts, both wide of the mark. The Knights posted five shots with Bullets goalie Connor Darrell posting his only save in the 76th minute.

Gettysburg finished with a 10-7 edge in shots and a 10-1 margin in corner kicks.

McLane led the Bullets with three shots, while seniors Eric Hynes and Teddy McCarthy each posted two attempts.

Gettysburg returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 14 with a road trip to second-ranked Messiah College at 7 p.m.
