NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Gettysburg College volleyball team was saddled with a pair of losses on the final day of the New York University Violet Classic on Saturday. The Bullets fell to the hosts 3-1 before ending the event with a 3-0 setback to No. 5 Eastern University.

Cydney Bracken was named to the All-Tournament team for Gettysburg (9-6) after averaging 3.67 kills per set on the weekend.
Gettysburg started the day on good note by beating NYU (11-6) 25-19 in the opening set, but the Violets rebounded by taking the final three contests 25-20, 25-22, and 25-21. Bracken paced the Bullets with a season-high 19 kills, while senior

Rebecca Rubenstein led the defense with 18 digs and sophomore setter
Lizzy Kuhn dished out 36 assists.
The long weekend did little to help the Bullets against fifth-ranked Eastern as the squad was swept by the Eagles for the second time this season 25-14, 25-10, and 25-15.
On Friday, Gettysburg managed to split its two matches, falling to Stockton College in three (25-23, 25-22, 25-22) before bouncing back to sweep Hunter College (25-15, 25-14, 25-18). Bracken led the way against Stockton with eight kills, while Rubenstein put up 17 digs.
In the win over Hunter, Bracken hit for 11 kills and Hogan posted nine kills and 17 digs. Sophomore
Sarah Gorski notched seven kills and three blocks and sophomore setter
Nicole Petrillo logged five kills and 31 assists.
Gettysburg returns to its Centennial Conference schedule on Tuesday, Sept. 27, with a home match against Washington College inside Bream Gym at 7 p.m.
