QUICK HITS
1. The Bullets enter the game locked in a three-way tie with Muhlenberg College and Ursinus College for third place in the Centennial Conference standings at 4-2.
2. Gettysburg has posted its best record through seven games since the 2007 team also opened the year at 5-2.
3. The Bullets continue to be well-represented among the Division III statistical leaders. They are ranked in the top-25 in four different categories and are seventh in rushing at 298.0 yards per game.
SERIES HISTORY
Gettysburg leads Moravian 9-1 in the all-time series that started in Head Coach
Barry Streeter's first season at Gettysburg in 1978. After the Greyhounds won the first meeting, the Bullets have captured the last nine. Former Middle Atlantic Conference opponents, the two sides did not meet from 1983-2006, as Gettysburg joined the Centennial Conference and Moravian still competed in the MAC. The Greyhounds joined the Centennial as an associate member for football in 2007.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bullets led 10th-ranked Johns Hopkins 35-28 with 14:37 left, but the undefeated Blue Jays ended the game on a 21-0 run and Gettysburg came up on the short end of a 49-35 decision in Baltimore last Friday night. In a nail-biter that featured five ties and three lead changes, neither team led by more than seven until Johns Hopkins scored its final touchdown. The game featured two lightning delays, including one that pushed back the start of the game 50 minutes to 7:50 p.m. The final horn sounded just past 11 p.m. Senior tailback
Ted Delia rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns for the Bullets, who had four scoring drives of 70 yards or longer. Senior quarterback
Kody Smith ran for 83 yards and a pair of TDs while throwing for 197 yards. Senior linebacker
Larry DelViscio led all players with 17 tackles for the Bullets while freshman linebacker
Kodie McNamara made a season-high 16 stops.
Moravian fell behind 21-0 in the first quarter and dropped a 34-2 decision at Franklin & Marshall College last Saturday. The Greyhounds scored their lone points when F&M snapped the ball over the punter's head and out of the end zone for a safety in the second quarter. Sophomore linebacker Kevin Bracken made nine tackles (all solo) while forcing and recovering a fumble to lead the Greyhounds while sophomore linebacker Ed Buoye posted an interception.
LAST YEAR'S MATCHUP
Aden Twer broke a 47-year-old receiving record and the Bullets made the most of a freak October snowstorm, defeating Moravian College 22-14 at Rocco Calvo Field. Twer caught two touchdown passes and his second gave him 12 for the season, one more than Ken Snyder '65 posted in 1964. Twer finished the game with five catches for 84 yards while junior tailback
Ted Delia rushed for 115 yards, with 76 coming on a first-half touchdown run. The game started with a blanket of snow already covering the field, and persistent precipitation added up to several inches on the artificial surface by the end of the day. The Bullets held the Greyhounds to 154 yards - the fewest by a Gettysburg opponent since 2003. Linebacker
Larry DelViscio and defensive tackle
Robert Swierkowski made a team-high eight tackles apiece while Ryan Hartzell led all players with 15 tackles for Moravian. Quarterback Robbie Moyer rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown for the Greyhounds.
