GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Neither the weather nor visiting Muhlenberg College could stop the top-ranked Gettysburg College women's lacrosse team on Saturday as the Bullets tied a season high for goals as part of a 22-5 victory in a Centennial Conference showdown at Clark Field.
Despite a consistent, clinging rain falling throughout Saturday's match up, Gettysburg (6-0, 2-0 CC) raced out to a 7-0 lead in just 6:30. Sophomore
Loren Pruitt connected on back-to-back attempts about a minute apart and
Katie Blumenthal completed a hat trick to close the opening run.
Muhlenberg (4-2, 0-2 CC) pulled to 9-2 on a goal by Angela Napoletano at 11:21, but the Bullets raced off for the next eight tallies to take a 17-2 advantage less than two minutes into the final period.
Gettysburg dominated the draw circle, winning 24-of-29 draw controls. The Bullets out-shot the Mules 39-9 and picked up 25 ground balls.
