GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College volleyball team earned a split on the second day of its own Battlefield Classic. The Bullets took down Mount Saint Mary (N.Y.) College 3-0 before suffering a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the University of Scranton to close the tournament.
Gettysburg (2-2) received a well-rounded effort against Mount Saint Mary (0-4) en route to 25-13, 25-16, and 25-18 victories. Junior
Courtney Cyr led the team with eight kills, while classmates
Sarah Gorski and
Kelly Milione posted six and five kills, respectively.
Senior
Katie Wilson paced the defensive effort with eight digs to go with a pair of service aces. Junior
Lizzy Kuhn tallied 16 assists, seven digs, and five aces.
Scranton (4-0) made quick work of Gettysburg with 25-14, 25-15, and 25-20 decisions. Cyr once again led the attack for the Bullets with six kills, while Kuhn posted a dozen assists and a dozen digs. Wilson racked up 13 digs out of the back row.

Cydney Bracken was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Gettysburg returns to action next weekend with a two-day tournament at Hollins University in Roanoke, Va. The Bullets face Emory & Henry College and Virginia Wesleyan College at 5 and 7 p.m., respectively, on Friday, Sept. 7.
