GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College offense was on full display on Saturday night at Clark Field as the Bullets picked up four goals in the second half to run past visiting Ursinus College 5-0 in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams.

Gettysburg (4-1, 1-0 CC) improved to 19-1 all-time in Centennial openers with its dismantling of Ursinus (2-3, 0-1 CC). The Bullets out-shot the visitors 20-8 and held a 5-2 lead in corner kicks.

After scoring all of its goals in the second half of its first three victories, Gettysburg posted an early tally in the first half of Saturday's match. Senior Sarah Alesio nearly had her corner kick sail into the cage, but the ball was punched away by goalie Kara DiJoseph. Awarded another opportunity, Alesio sent the kick to the far side of the box to classmate Lindsey Lyons, who headed it back to the left side.

Senior Casey Attanasio was in the right spot at the right time for her first goal of the campaign at 10:39. The goal was also the 21st of her career, moving her into a tie for eighth with Amy Mollencamp on the Bullets' all-time list.

Gettysburg dialed up the offense in the second half and added an insurance goal just seven minutes in as freshman Melissa Seidner took advantage of a lucky bounce over the keeper to put in her second goal of the year at 52:29.

Freshman Lauren Schapiro made it a 3-0 advantage with a nice move around the top of the box en route to her second goal of the campaign in the 66th minute. Less than a minute later, sophomore Jill Baltz posted her first goal of the season to stake the hosts out to a 4-0 lead.

Gettysburg cleared its bench shortly after and the reserves kept the pressure on. In the 87th minute, freshman Jessica Ertel beat her defender around the left side of the box for her first career score.

Ursinus attempted several long shots that were easily controlled by freshman goalie Eliza Gray, who finished with five saves. Gray has yet to allow a goal in her young career, running her scoreless streak to 349:37. Sophomore Morgan Patullo played the final 10:23 in cage in Saturday's contest.

Attanasio led Gettysburg with four shot attempts, while Seidner finished with three shots. Lisa Pan led Ursinus with four shots and Kara DiJoseph made five saves.
