CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Washington College scored the final six points in the fifth and final set to take down Gettysburg 3-2 in Centennial Conference volleyball action Saturday afternoon. The Bullets also fell to Stevenson University 3-0 later in the day.
 
Gettysburg (9-6, 2-1 CC) suffered its first conference loss of the season as Washington (7-7, 2-0 CC) edged the Bullets in the final two sets. After splitting the opening two contests with the visitors winning the first 25-21 and the hosts winning the second 25-22, Gettysburg posted a convincing 25-16 victory in the third set to take a 2-1 lead. The Shorewomen jumped out to a nine-point lead in the fourth set before holding back a late charge in a 27-25 victory.
 
A four-point run by Gettysburg set the score at 8-5 in the final frame. The Bullets led 13-9 before Washington made its six-point run thanks in large part to Jess Daunoras, who tallied three kills during the run.
 
Senior 
Katie Wilson led a strong defensive effort with her second 30-dig performance of the season. She finished two shy of her career-high with 30 digs and she posted four service aces. Junior 
Kelly Milione posted 17 digs and classmate 
Lizzy Kuhn added 10 digs and 27 assists.
 
Sophomore 
Cydney Bracken posted 16 kills and junior 
Sarah Gorski finished with 14 kills and five total blocks. Freshman 
Courtney Morrow finished the match with five kills, six aces, and five digs.
 
Kristin Lee led Washington with 24 kills and 19 digs. Daunoras added a dozen kills, while Lauren White tallied 48 assists and 11 digs.
 
Stevenson (14-1) swept Gettysburg with scores of 27-25, 25-20, and 25-18. Bracken notched 13 kills to lead the Bullets for the fifth consecutive match. Kuhn posted 22 assists and six digs and Wilson added 11 digs. Gorski finished with four kills and six block assists.
 
Avery Gabbard and Imani Hudson combined for 27 kills to lead the Mustangs.
Additionally, Gorski was named to the Elizabethtown College Blue Jay Classic All-Tournament Team for helping Gettysburg to a 2-0 record at the event on Friday.
 
Gettysburg travels to Hood College for a non-conference match on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m.
