Brigid Behan scored a pair of goals to lead the Gettysburg College women's soccer team to a 4-0 win at Washington College in Centennial Conference action on Saturday.
Gettysburg (5-2, 2-1 CC) received two goals in each half as the defense held Washington (3-4, 1-2 CC) to just one shot in the entire match. Behan provided instant offense after checking in midway through the first period, scoring on a corner by junior
Becca Kent in the 20th minute, just 1:19 after entering the contest.
Behan added her second goal of the contest in the 26th minute off a pair of touches by junior
Ashley Miller and freshman
Lauren Schapiro. Washington's only shot attempt was on goal with just over six minutes left in the half, but first-year keeper
Eliza Gray made the stop for her only save of the contest.
The Bullets padded the lead with goals by senior
Sarah Alesio and junior
Tara Crowley in the final period. Alesio scored on a pass from junior
Tobi Goss in the 49th minute, while Crowley picked up her second score of the season in the 69th minute.
Gettysburg finished with a 16-1 advantage in shots and took all 10 corner kicks in the contest.
Gettysburg returns to the pitch with a non-conference contest at Frostburg State University on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m.
