Box Score

FROSTBURG, Md. – Junior Rachel West scored in the 104th minute to hand the Gettysburg College women's soccer team a 2-1 double-overtime victory over host Frostburg State University in a non-conference match Wednesday evening.

It was the first goal of the season for West, who from the top of the box drilled in a shot into the top right corner of the net.

The Bullets (6-2) worked overtime for the first time this year and handed Frostburg only its second loss of the season. It was also Gettysburg's first double-OT victory since a 3-2 win at Swarthmore College on Oct. 23, 2010.

Freshman Eliza Gray  finished with seven saves for Gettysburg while Katie Smith stopped six shots for the Bobcats (6-2-1).

The Bullets assumed a 1-0 advantage in the fourth minute when they scored an own goal during a failed clear attempt by a defender. But Frostburg pulled even in the 31st minute, when Andria Graham converted an assist from Stephanie Fazenbaker.

Each goalie made five saves in the opening half, when Frostburg held a 6-5 shot advantage.

Gray turned aside two more shots in the second period, when Smith saved one shot. Neither team had a shot on goal in overtime before West's game-winner.

The Bullets return to the pitch on Saturday, when they host 25th-ranked Haverford College at 12:30 p.m. during Homecoming weekend.
