Box Score

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Junior Brigid Behan (Newport, R.I./Portsmouth Abbey) scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute to lift the Gettysburg College women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over McDaniel College in a battle between two of the top teams in the Centennial Conference Wednesday evening.

With the win, the Bullets (10-1-3, 5-1-1 CC) maintained their hold on first place in the conference in terms of points (16). McDaniel (10-3, 4-2 CC) entered the night tied for second in the conference.

Gettysburg has now reached the 10-win plateau for the fourth-straight season.

The Bullets outshot the Green Terror 7-1 in the first half and continued to apply the pressure in the second period before breaking through on their 15th shot of the night. Standing at the top of the box, Behan took a pass from junior Molly Phillips (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) and made a quick move on her defender before delivering a shot into the bottom right corner of the net for her fifth goal of the season.

Gettysburg finished with a 21-2 advantage in shots. Both teams were awarded five penalty corners.

Sophomore Eliza Gray (South Orange, N.J./Columbia) did not need to make a save to earn her sixth shutout of the season. Haley Jacobs turned aside seven shots for McDaniel.

The Bullets pick up their schedule on Saturday, when they visit Muhlenberg College in another Centennial Conference affair beginning at 1 p.m.
