LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior Alexis Bralow (Philadephia, Pa./Harriton) tied a career-high with 11 saves, but the Gettysburg College field hockey team was nipped 1-0 at sixth-ranked Franklin & Marshall College in Centennial Conference action Wednesday night.

The Diplomats (14-1, 8-0 CC) received all the scoring they would need when Megan Kelly scored with 4:59 left in the first half, controlling the ball off a defensive save before sending home her first goal of the season.

F&M outshot the Bullets 24-3, including 16-0 in the first half. But Bralow kept her team in it, making five stops in the first half and six in the second stanza.

Gettysburg (8-6, 3-5 CC) had its best chance to score in the opening two minutes of the second half, when junior Kristen Olenick (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) took two quick shots that were both saved by goalie Avery Koep. They were the Bullets' only two shots on goal for the night.

The Orange and Blue returns to action on Saturday, when it visits Johns Hopkins University in a Centennial Conference match beginning at 1 p.m.
