Men’s Soccer Unable to Overcome Early Deficit

Delmolino, Pyros Score for the Bullets

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College men's soccer team was unable to come back from an early deficit as they fell to Franklin & Marshall 3-2 in a Centennial Conference match Wednesday night at Clark Field.

After falling behind 2-0 in the first 5:19, junior Parker Delmolino (Monroe, Conn./Fairfield Prep) lobbed a shot in off a pass from junior Andrew Carlino (Kennett Square, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep) in the 15th minute to cut the lead in half 2-1.

After the Diplomats Chase TenBrook scored his second goal of the night to put Franklin & Marshall up 3-2, junior Christian Pyros (Shavertown, Pa./Dallas) stepped up to take a free kick just inside the Bullets offensive half of the field. Pyros played a high ball into the box which found the back of the goal and the Bullets once again cut the lead to one in the 78th minute.

Franklin & Marshall finished with an 11-6 shot advantage on the night.

Senior Connor Darrell (Cream Ridge, N.J./Allentown) finished the night with two saves for the Bullets.

With the win Franklin & Marshall improves to 10-3-2 overall, 3-3-1 in the Centennial and Gettysburg falls to 2-11-1 overall, 2-4-1 in the Centennial.

The Bullets return to Clark Field Saturday at 4 p.m. for a Centennial Conference matchup against McDaniel College.
