HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Lake Forest College swept doubles to help secure a 6-3 win over Gettysburg College in non-conference men's tennis action at the South Beach Racquet Club on Thursday.
 
Gettysburg (1-4) was unable to pick up a point in doubles as Lake Forest (6-5) secured 8-3 wins at No. 1 and No. 3 and an 8-5 win at the second flight.
 
The Bullets bounced back in singles action by splitting the six bouts. Freshmen Dave Musser (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) and Kyle Shope (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) earned wins at the second and fourth flights, respectively. Musser earned his third win of the spring with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Mike Riley, while Shope earned his second-straight singles decision with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Kevin Lasky.
 
Junior Mike Pratt (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Anthony Maykhaylovskyy at No. 3. Senior Chris Curran (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) battled back from an opening 6-2  loss to win the second set in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-1) against John Adams at the top flight, but he was edged in the third set 10-8.
 
Gettysburg returns to action with its first Centennial Conference contest at Haverford College on Saturday, March 23, at noon.
