CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Gettysburg College volleyball team was handed a 3-0 setback at the hands of Washington College in a Centennial Conference affair Saturday afternoon.
Washington (7-4, 1-1 CC) powered past Gettysburg (7-7, 1-1 CC) with scores of 25-13, 25-16, and 25-14. The Shorewomen never trailed in the first and third sets, dropping in 13 consecutive points in the former frame.
Freshman Laura Bergin (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) and senior Lizzy Kuhn (Wilmington, Del./Archmere Academy) each posted seven kills to lead Gettysburg. Kuhn added 14 assists, two aces, and seven digs. Freshman Hannah Dallman (Fairfax, Va./W.T. Woodson) put down five kills.
Senior Kelly Milione (Gainesville, Va./Battlefield) led the defensive effort with 13 digs, while sophomores Hannah Bentz (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) and Alesha Miller (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) each posted seven digs.
Kristin Lee put down 13 kills, while Jess Daunoras and Caitlin Cooney each tallied 11 kills to lead the Shorewomen.
Gettysburg returns to action at home against Susquehanna University on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 7:30 p.m.
