ASTON, Pa. – Neumann University tallied the first three goals en route to a 3-1 victory over visiting Gettysburg College in non-conference men's soccer action Saturday afternoon.

Gettysburg (0-3) found itself down early as Neumann (2-1-1) scored on its opening shot attempt. Mike Attallian accounted for the score off a pass by Caleb Clanton in the third minute.

After senior goalie Connor Darrell (Cream Ridge, N.J./Allentown) stopped a shot by Atallian in the sixth minute, the Knights struck again. Clanton dished out his second assist on a goal by Dan Chrashewsky in the 12th minute to spot the hosts a 2-0 advantage.

The visitors looked to get on the board at the start of the final period with sophomore Noah Sheetz-Ziegel (Rockville, Md./Walter Johnson) taking a penalty kick just over three minutes into the frame. Neumann goalie Alex Lacko stopped the shot and turned away the immediate putback by Sheetz-Ziegel to preserve the lead.

Clanton capped a four-point afternoon with a goal in the 58th minute.

Lacko posted two more saves in the 64th and 68th minutes to keep the Bullets off the board. Darrell prevented any more damage with all three of his second-half saves during a six-minute time period midway through the stanza.

Junior Parker Delmolino (Monroe, Conn./Fairfield Prep) accounted for Gettysburg's lone goal in the 84th minute.

Gettysburg finished with a 13-11 edge in shots, but Neumann led in corner kicks 9-4.

The Bullets visit top-ranked Messiah College on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m.
