Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – Senior
Kyle Franks (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) scored on a penalty kick in the 85th minute and the Bullets fired off a pair of potential game-tying shots down the stretch, but host McDaniel College held on for a 2-1 Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer victory in Gettysburg's season finale on Saturday.
Under first-year head coach
Mark Mettrick, the Bullets close out the year with a record of 9-7-1 (2-6-1 CC). Despite missing three starters for the second half of the season, the Orange and Blue posted their highest victory total since 2008.

Neither side scored in the opening half, when McDaniel held a 5-4 edge in shots. However, freshman
Max Karen (Huntington, N.Y./Elwood-John Glenn) made all three of his saves in the opening period for the Bullets.
Gettysburg outshot McDaniel 9-4 in the second half, but Sean Foley put the hosts up 1-0 when he scored off an assist from Shane McCracken in the 47th minute. McCracken doubled his team's lead in the 63rd minute, finishing off a Raul Escobar feed. In the meantime, Over made four of his saves in the second period.
After Franks' goal – his third of the season and the second over the final three matches of his career – sophomore
Henry Smith (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) missed high on a shot in the 87th minute before freshman
Lucas Weissman's (Short Hills, N.J./Milburn) blast in the 89th also sailed high.
