Box Score

FROSTBURG, Md. – Gettysburg outshot host Frostburg State University 15-7, but the undefeated Bobcats scored in the 78th minute to hand the Bullets a 1-0 loss in non-conference women's soccer action Wednesday evening.

The Bullets (2-2) held an 8-2 shot advantage in the first half, but Frostburg goalie Katie Smith made four saves in the opening stanza and the scoreboard read 0-0 at the half.

It would remain a scoreless game until Jessi Martz flicked a long header towards the Bullet goal, where Stephanie Fazenbaker ran down the ball and carried it in nearly 40 yards before slipping a shot into the upper left corner of the net.

Nearly 10 minutes later, senior Georgia Ferguson (Bethel, Conn./Bethel) had a chance to tie it but her shot in front was caught by Smith, who finished with seven saves for the Bobcats (4-0-1).

Junior Eliza Gray (South Orange, N.J./Columbia) was credited with one save for the Bullets.

Gettysburg returns to the pitch next Wednesday, when it hosts York (Pa.) College in another non-league tilt starting at 7 p.m.
