Box Score

WINCHESTER, Pa. – Seniors Molly Phillips (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) and Jill Baltz (Seaville, N.J./Ocean City) scored one goal apiece as the Gettysburg College women's soccer team picked up a 2-0 victory at Shenandoah University in a non-conference affair Wednesday evening.

Playing their first road match of the season, the Bullets (2-1) outshot the Hornets 19-2 en route to their second straight shutout. Junior Eliza Gray (South Orange, N.J./Columbia) went the distance in goal while making one save while Erin Septer stopped 10 shots for Shenandoah (0-2).

Gettysburg attempted five shots before finding paydirt in the 33rd minute. Following a corner kick from senior Meg Castranova (Pennington, N.J./Pennington School), Phillips struck for her first goal of the season.

The Bullets would fire off six more shots over the remainder of the period, but that's when Septer made four of her saves and the Orange and Blue led 1-0 at the half.

Baltz added her team-leading third goal of the season in the 52nd minute, converting an unassisted tally to set the final score. The defense made the lead stand up, allowing just a single shot in the second half as well.

Gettysburg returns to action on Saturday when it visits No. 17 Misericordia University at 5 p.m. in another non-conference outing and the Bullets' second match versus a nationally-ranked opponent this season.
