SELINSGROVE, Pa.  – The Gettysburg College volleyball team split four matches at the Susquehanna University Hampton Inn Crusader Classic on Sept. 5-6.
 
Gettysburg (6-3) went the distance twice on Friday, opening with a five-set victory over Misericordia University (25-10, 19-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-8) before falling to Saint Vincent College in five (15-25, 21-25, 27-25, 25-21, 15-9). The Bullets cruised past Dickinson College in three sets in a non-conference match up and finished up the tournament with a three-set loss (20-25, 17-25, 22-25) to host Susquehanna.
 
Junior Joosje Grevers (Westport, Conn./Staples) and freshman Stephanie Blair (Chest, N.J./West Morris Mendham) were each named to the All-Tournament Team. Grevers logged a combined 31 kills on the opening day of competition, including a career-high tying 17 against Saint Vincent. On Saturday, she added 14 more kills in two matches.
 
Blair totaled 137 assists, 20 kills, and six aces over the four matches. In the opening win over Misericordia, the freshman setter dished out 43 assists only to top that standard with a season-high 51 in the loss to Saint Vincent.
 
Sophomore Laura Bergin (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) hit for double-figure kills in each of the opening two matches and finished with 32 on the weekend, while freshman Lauren Godshalk (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) logged a season-high 12 against Saint Vincent.
 
Gettysburg travels to Elizabethtown College for a non-conference match on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m.
