Henry Smith (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) scored 10 minutes into the match, but Dickinson College responded with six unanswered tallies and the host Red Devils defeated Gettysburg 6-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action Saturday evening.
Five different players scored for Dickinson (9-3-2, 3-1-2 CC), which led 2-1 at the half before adding four more tallies in the second period.

Patrick Santini (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) sent a quick pass to junior
KJ DePontes (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel) on the left wing. DePontes crossed to Smith, who drilled in his sixth goal of the season.

Max Karen (Huntington, N.Y./Elwood-John Glenn) made three saves over the opening 30 minutes of the period to keep the Red Devils off the scoreboard. But that's when Will Bracken scored a pair of goals just over a minute apart to give Dickinson the lead.
The Devils outshot the Bullets 12-5 in the first half, when Karen made five saves.
Four different Devils scored in the second half as the hosts pulled away. Austin Thomas and Matthew Edmonds struck seven minutes apart early in the half to make it 4-1 before Braeden Kelly and Ned Wagner converted in approximately the same time span late in the match to set the final score.
Karen stopped three more shots in the second half to finish with a career-high eight stops. Jacob Schreer made five saves for Dickinson, which held a 20-10 shot advantage for the night.
Gettysburg returns to action next Saturday, when it visits Washington College at 4 p.m. in a Centennial Conference match-up.
