Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to McDaniel College in Centennial Conference action Wednesday night inside Bream Gym.
Gettysburg (12-11, 3-4 CC) fell on the short-end of 27-25, 25-18, and 25-16 scores with McDaniel (15-6, 3-4 CC). The Bullets led throughout the first set, including 24-21 on an over-pass kill by sophomore
Lauren Godshalk (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan). The Green Terror rallied with three-straight points to tie the set. After falling behind 25-24, the visitors polished off the win with three more tallies, including a kill and an ace by Madeline Rose.
Senior
Courtney Morrow (Greenlawn, N.Y./Harborfields) and junior
Laura Bergin (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) led the attack with eight kills, while Godshalk contributed six kills and three blocks.
Sophomore
Katherine Gilbert (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) paced the defense with 14 digs. Sophomore setter
Stephanie Blair (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) tallied 26 assists and eight digs, while senior
Alesha Miller (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) came up with eight digs.
Rose led McDaniel with 14 kills and four blocks. Kloe Martin added 11 kills and 10 digs, while Taylor Bauman put up 16 digs.
Gettysburg faces Muhlenberg College and Moravian College this Saturday. The Bullets face the Mules at 1 p.m. followed by a match up with the host Greyhounds at 3.
