Box Score 2 YORK, Pa. – Senior
Lindsey Treanor (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) allowed just two hits and blanked host York College for seven innings as the Gettysburg College softball team took the opener of a non-conference doubleheader 1-0 on Tuesday.
Gettysburg (11-3) scored its only run on an RBI double by junior
Steph Zengel (High Bridge, N.J./North Hunterdon) in the fourth inning in the first game. In game two, York (9-5) rallied from a 5-0 deficit to win 7-6 on a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh.
Offense was at a premium in the first game as the two teams combined for just five hits. Gettysburg wiped out York's first base-runner on a double play between third base and first base in the second inning. With a runner on second, York slapped a hard grounder that deflected off the third baseman's glove to shortstop
Jamie Abell (Glenn Dale, Md./Elizabeth Seton) who gunned down the runner at first. The runner on second attempted to go to third on Abell's throw, but freshman first baseman
Stephanie Leonardo (East Haddam, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) fired it to the opposite corner for the putout.
The Bullets scored the game's only run in quick fashion in the fourth inning. Abell led off with a single and Zengel followed up with a double to right-center on the first pitch she saw.

The shutout was the 12th of Treanor's career, moving her into third on Gettysburg's all-time list.
Gettysburg jumped out with five runs in the opening frame of game two. Junior
Meghan Hisgen (East Northport, N.Y./Commack) and sophomore
Sam Misurell (Franklin Park, N.J./Bishop George Ahr) each recorded two-run singles in the inning.
The Spartans steadily chipped away at the lead with single runs in the first, second, and fifth innings, including a solo home run by Carleigh Ruleman to lead off the second. York made its big move in the sixth. A lead-off single and well-placed bunt for a hit placed runners on first and second. Jayci Cristaudo took full advantage, smashing a 2-2 pitch over the fence in left-center to give York a 6-5 lead.
The Bullets got one run back in the top of the seventh as pinch-hitter
Mykaela Twitchell (Cumberland, Maine/Greely) stroked a run-scoring single to left field with one out. Gettysburg placed runners on first and second with one out, but York got out of the jam with a pair of pop-ups.
York set itself up for the win by loading the bases with no outs in the home half of the seventh. Ashley Lechner singled up the middle to score the game-winning run.
Gettysburg posted 13 hits in the nightcap, including three by Abell and two by senior
Ashley Iannone (Great Meadows, N.J./Blair Academy). Freshman
Aileen Reilly (Huntington Station, N.Y./St. Anthony's) suffered her first loss of the season after giving up seven runs on 13 hits and striking out seven.
The Bullets are scheduled to play at Hood College on Thursday, March 26, at 3 p.m.
