Macauley Mikes helped Gettysburg record another strong defensive effort at Dickinson.
Box Score

CARLISLE, Pa. – Ninth-ranked Gettysburg tossed in eight goals in the first 10 minutes and then held host Dickinson College without a goal over the final 28 minutes on the way to a 15-5 victory at Biddle Field on Wednesday.

Senior Mandy Buell (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) paced Gettysburg (8-2, 2-1 CC) with five goals and two assists. Junior Abby Baigelman (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) added three goals, while classmate Maggie Connolly (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) reached 100 career points with one goal and two assists. Sophomore goalie Shannon Keeler (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) tallied eight saves and three ground balls.

Dickinson (4-4, 1-2 CC) had no answer for the Bullets' attack in the game's opening minutes. Buell kicked things off with a goal just one minute in and Connolly added another goal 30 seconds later.

Jennifer Morrissey scored the host's first goal at 28:05, but Gettysburg's offensive wave kept coming. Buell scored three goals during a 6-0 run, the last making the score 8-1 with just over 20 minutes left in the first half.

The Red Devils played even with the Bullets for the remainder of the period and the score stood at 11-4 at the break.

Junior Amanda Borucki (Westminster, Md./North Carroll) found the back of the net 35 seconds into the final period. Caroline Clancy answered for Dickinson less than a minute later, but that would be the final goal for the hosts. Gettysburg's defense allowed only seven shots while forcing an equal number of turnovers in the second half.

Baigelman tallied a pair of goals, while senior Liz Cocchiola (Lebanon, N.J./North Hunterdon) polished off the scoring with eight minutes left in the game.

Connolly and Kenny each produced five draw controls as the Bullets held a commanding 16-6 lead overall. The visitors also out-shot the hosts 31-18 and scooped up more ground balls (20-13).

Borucki posted a pair of goals and Kenny and freshman Katie Landry (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) each logged a goal and an assist. Sophomore Caroline Jaeger (Hampton, N.J./North Hunterdon) posted two caused turnovers and two ground balls, while classmate Macauley Mikes (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) corralled three ground balls and logged a caused turnover.
