GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Senior Mandy Buell (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) tied a personal high with seven goals and sixth-ranked Gettysburg College kept rolling with a decisive 17-4 victory over Washington College in Centennial Conference women's lacrosse action at Clark Field on Saturday.
 
Gettysburg (12-2, 6-1 CC) came into Saturday's game tied with Washington (9-4, 5-2 CC) for second place in the Centennial Conference, but the Bullets left the Shorewomen and last year's upset in Chestertown in the rear-view mirror.
 
Buell tied her career high set earlier this season against York (Pa.) College. Senior Bridget Kenny (Gladstone, N.J./Bernards) added four goals and two assists and combined with Buell for 11 draw controls. Freshman Katie Landry (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) tossed in four goals and dished out one assist.
 
Washington beat Gettysburg in double-overtime last season, but the Shorewomen couldn't keep pace with the host's quick attack. Gettysburg tossed in three goals in the first 2:59, including back-to-back goals by Kenny and junior Maggie Connolly (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) just 15 seconds apart.
 
After Emily Hubley tallied the visitor's first goal at 24:58, the Bullets ran away with a nine-goal run to cap the first half. Buell accounted for four goals, including a fantastic hesitation move to juke three defenders and make it 9-1 with 12:57 left in the frame.
 
Gettysburg put the game on cruise control in the final period. After a shot by Kenny was blocked down in front of the goal, Buell was right there for the quick scoop into the net to make it 16-3 at 12:24. Kenny tossed in her team's final tally two minutes later.
 
Gettysburg dominated the game statistically. The Bullets out-shot Washington 33-10 and picked up 18 ground balls to the visitor's dozen. The hosts also won 18-of-23 draw controls. Gettysburg held Washington to 9-of-17 on clear attempts. During their seven-game win streak, the Bullets have out-scored their foes 119-32.
 
Kenny paced the team with three caused turnovers and added a pair of ground balls. Senior Allie Clark (Wynnewood, Pa./Episcopal Academy), junior Emily Tropsa (Darien, Conn./Darien), and sophomore Macauley Mikes (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) were each credited with two caused turnovers. Sophomore Shannon Keeler (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) posted five saves in the victory.
 
Hubley turned in a pair of goals, while Alli Dudley posted two assists for Washington. Daniela Falcone scored a goal and posted two caused turnovers.
 
Next up for Gettysburg is a showdown with conference front-runner and third-ranked Franklin & Marshall College (14-1, 7-0 CC) in Lancaster, Pa., on Wednesday, April 22 at 7 p.m.
